March 2023
March was full of learning and fun! We started with Read Across America Week, which really emphasized a love for reading! We had lots of read-alouds from guest readers from Nettleton Jr. High, University Heights School of Medical Arts, the A-State football program, UHE faculty and staff, and other friends and family members! We read books by a wide variety of children's authors! March 2nd was Dr. Seuss's birthday. We celebrated by eating Green Eggs and Ham for lunch and eating Truffula Trees (cotton candy) for a special treat! We had a book character dress-up day and a photobooth set up to take pictures! We also recognized lots of students with Raider of the Month, positive office referrals, and Class Dojo lunches! On Parent/Teacher Conference day, we loved seeing our families in the building! Earlier that day, we also celebrated St. Patrick's Day a little early! We had fun activities and a school-wide scavenger hunt! Students who raised $100 or more for the American Heart Association during the Kids Heart Challenge got to dump ice cold water on Coach K in front of the entire school! We also enjoyed Spring Break as we wrapped up the wonderful month of March!
